RIDIBack to overview
RIDI is one of europe’s premier manufacturers of technical and design-oriented luminaires.
A product spectrum of proven luminaire models, continuous development of new technologies and customer-centric design of bespoke luminaire models all set RIDI apart as a quality manufacturer. RIDI implements every size and type of light planning project, from the simplest solution through to highly complex lighting control systems.
RIDI Leuchten began production of its first kitchen light fittings back in 1957. Over the years, RIDI has grown and evolved to become a key player in the industry. Today, RIDI is ideally placed with several producing locations in Germany and Poland, subsidiaries across Europe and a large number of representations in Germany and across Europe.
RIDI’s Jungingen location encompasses a production area of around 35,000 m² (8.6 acres) and is also the company headquarters. The focus of production in Jungingen is on louvre luminaires, lighting systems, architectural lighting, and special luminaires. A wide range of luminaire components for the company’s plants in Zeuthen und Rellingen are also produced here. The 2,800 m² (0.7 acres) of the Rellingen site are set aside exclusively for the production of the RIDI LINEA continuous lighting system. Because of the enormous batch quantity of these products, the manufacturing processes are largely automated. The Zeuthen production center manufactures diffuser luminaires, pendant luminaires and continuous lighting systems over an area of 15,000 m² (3.7 acres).
Looking to the future, in Jungingen an LED department has been established which is dedicated exclusively to the development of LEDS, non-standard production and in-house LED fittings. With its own LED fitting plant, RIDI is now in a position to produce its own adapted in-house LED modules to address the growing requirements for lighting technology and product design. The LED fitting facilities enable RIDI to mount conductors, fit LEDs and subsequently solder individual modules to create products featuring various shapes, luminous intensities, and light colors.
Having integrated the Spectral and li:fy brands, the RIDI product range now encompasses everything from technical luminaires and functional continuous lighting systems to design-oriented lighting sculptures and living room lighting concepts.
The Spectral brand, which enjoys an excellent reputation among architects, was acquired in 2010 and is being continuously extended. Spectral stands for lighting with the emphasis on design and architecture, making it the ideal addition to RIDI’s product portfolio. Here too, LED technology has greatly boosted innovation.
The li:fy product line provides high-end light fittings for private use, hotels, retirement homes, student accommodation or stylish offices. The product range is supplemented by unique one-off pieces made of high-grade glass. These luminaires are designed to create a pleasant mood. But the are also a design feature in their own right.
RIDI puts great emphasis on environmental responsibility. The company building in Jungingen is air conditioned and heated using regenerative energy. This also goes for the power the powder coating plant. This energy is supplied by BEK Bioenergie Killertal GmbH, which established a biomass power plant opposite the RIDI company site in 2011. The power plant’s biggest single customer, RIDI uses the generated heat to provide carbon-neutral air conditioning and heating for its premises, making a key contribution to reducing carbon emissions and slowing down climate change.
With its three brands RIDI, Spectral and li:fy, the RIDI company group provides its customers with outstanding technical expertise, coupled with a consistent marketing structure. RIDI stands for large-volume series production as well as bespoke craftsmanship. This is made possible by an impressive vertical integration, extremely innovative investment management, and an aspirational approach to quality at the highest level.
RIDI opens up possibilities through customer focus, individuality, sustainability, quality awareness, innovation, and technological excellence.
